Michael “Brad” East is a Managing Director of Investments with RW Baird currently. Formerly was the Managing Director of Investments at Moors & Cabot, Inc., a private investment brokerage firm established in 1890 with headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. The Firm had continuously operated from this headquarters building since it was built by the Firm in 1892 until moving in 2018 to One Federal Street, leaving 111 Devonshire after more than a century. For the last 129 years, we have been a trusted advisor to individuals, families, businesses, and institutions in building, managing, protecting, and transitioning wealth.
Brad opened the Phoenix office for M&C in November 2003. From 2000-2003 Brad was with Van Kasper & Co., a San Francisco based boutique investment management/brokerage firm that was subsequently acquired by Wells Fargo Corporation. Brad began his investment practice in 1992 with J.W. Garrett & Co. Inc., a leading Arizona investment brokerage firm located in Phoenix and was appointed Senior Vice President within two years.
Brad has served a number of volunteer roles in the community. He was involved with the Executive Council of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix where he held numerous positions, most notably as Tournament Chairman of a Nationwide PGA Tour Event. Since 2017, Brad has served as Chairman for the PGA Tour Champions Charles Schwab Cup Championship. He is also currently serving on the Board of Directors of the University of Arizona Alumni Association. He has coached his daughter's athletic teams and is an advocate and supporter of the Girl Scouts of America.
Brad moved to Tucson in 1988 to attend the University of Arizona where he played on the University’s nationally-ranked golf team. He graduated from the University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics. He lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife, Melinda of 25 years. His oldest daughter Hannah works and lives in California and Emmegale just finished high school and will be heading off to the University of Texas in the fall.
